Brachioplasty & Thoracoplasty

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty/thoracoplasty, is a surgical procedure that reduces excess sagging skin and fat from the upper arm and upper flank area. It tightens and smoothes the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm and flank, and reduces localized pockets of fat in the arm/upper flank region.  This procedure is mostly done on post bariatric patients after massive weight loss.

Who is a good candidate for arm lift surgery?

In general, arm lift candidates include:

• Adults with significant upper arm and flank skin laxity

• Adults of any age whose weight is relatively stable and who are not significantly overweight

• Healthy individuals without medical conditions that impair healing or increase risk of surgery

• Nonsmokers/nonvapers

• Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
